Courses
Preliminary Info
The courses are designed in a way that both newcomers to permaculture and experienced permaculturists can benefit from most of them. If you are a newcomer, we encourage you to see the free intro presentation first and take one of the online courses before you commit to our longer trainings.
At HCAF we have a special approach to permaculture, largely impacted by our Conscious Ageing® scope and Deep Adaptation. That means that topics such as facing loss, dying, death and collapse are also covered and considered during the design process.
We believe that our courses are best suited to individuals who are interested in both 1) individual and community solutions as well as 2) systematic social change and possible responses to the current crises (climate, ecological, care, housing, overpopulation, mental health etc.).
Make no mistake: we are absolutely positive and optimistic about the future in the sense that we CAN build and implement good solutions. We just need to look in the eye of the issues honestly and use the permaculture approach and design framework to design and build those solutions. And this is exactly what we do at HCAF. So here is the menu to the trainings you can choose from:
4 hours online (intro)
Introduction to permaculture and social permaculture.
This course aims to give a glimpse of our approach to permaculture and social permaculture and to show the social context narrative we work within at Hekate Conscious Ageing Foundation (HCAF).
1-day training
in a permaculture garden
These one-day events take place in permaculture and/or social permaculture settings in Malta, Hungary, and the Netherlands. It is recommended that you take one of our online courses first, so that you can benefit a lot more from the garden days.

You will gain in-depth knowledge about how community living and care can be organised based on social permaculture. Those, who successfully finish the course will receive the SPD Certificate of HCAF.
4 x 4 hours, online (diving deeper)
A deeper introduction to permaculture and social permaculture. Also, a deeper introduction to the work of HCAF and to the “Conscious ageing, conscious living” learning community and ecosystem we hold space for and co-create with.
